The European Federation of Periodontology (EFP) has selected Munich as the venue for the EuroPerio12 Congress in 2028. With this decision, the Bavarian capital will become the center of international periodontology and implantology.
"The awarding of the EuroPerio Congress to Munich is a strong signal of the international appeal of our scientific and business location. The decision in favour of Munich highlights the great attractiveness of our city: Munich not only offers first-class infrastructure and excellent research, but also an inspiring environment for professional exchange at the highest level. We are delighted to be the host for the international periodontology community," said Dr Christian Scharpf, Head of the Department of Labor and Economic Development.
The city is home to renowned research institutions such as the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Periodontology at Ludwig Maximilian University, which is internationally recognized for innovative research and top-quality care. In addition, Munich boasts modern congress centers and a long tradition as a host city for major dental events. For the EuroPerio Congress, this means optimal conditions for successful international exchange, outstanding scientific contributions, and an attractive supporting program. Munich offers participants from all over the world an inspiring environment, excellent accessibility, and a diverse cultural offering.
“After 25 years, the EuroPerio Congress is returning to Germany and will take place for the first time at Messe München in 2028. With around 12,000 expected participants from across the globe, the congress will provide important momentum for the fields of periodontology and implantology. Messe München offers ideal conditions: we know the requirements of international specialized medical events and we bring all participants together efficiently on our site. This not only creates smooth processes, but also an ideal environment in which the future of the industry can be shaped,” say the two CEOs of Messe München, Reinhard Pfeiffer and Stefan Rummel.
